Paul Mescal and Jodie Comer are among the nominees for the 2023 British Independent Film Awards.
The Irish actor was nominated for Best Supporting Performance for All of Us Strangers, while the Killing Eve star earned recognition for Best Lead Performance for The End We Start From.
Mescal will be competing against his co-stars Claire Foy and Jamie Bell as well as Samuel Bottomley and Shaun Thomas for How to Have Sex, Ritu Arya for Polite Society, Katherine Waterston for The End We Start From and Alexandra Burke for Pretty Red Dress, among others.
The Best Lead Performance category also features Mescal’s All of Us Strangers co-star Andrew Scott, Tilda Swinton for The Eternal Daughter, Mia McKenna-Bruce for How to Have Sex, Tia Nomore for Earth Mama and In Camera’s Nabhaan Rizwan.
The British romantic comedy Rye Lane received the most nominations with 16. It was closely followed by Scrapper and All of Us Strangers with 14 and How to Have Sex with 13. All four movies are up for Best British Independent Film alongside Femme.
The winners will be announced in London on 3 December.
