Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore name their favourite performances

Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore revealed that their Oscar-winning performances were not their personal best.

Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore have named the performances they are most proud of.

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Monday night, the May December co-stars participated in a game in which they had to agree or disagree on certain statements.

They both voted “disagree” after Andy read the statement: “I consider the role for which I won my Oscar to be my best performance to date.”

Portman won the Best Actress Oscar in 2011 for her performance in Darren Aronofsky’s psychological thriller Black Swan, and Moore followed in her footsteps four years later by winning the same prize for Still Alice in 2015.

Later in the show, Andy followed up on the revelation and asked the actresses which performance they regarded as their personal best.

“It’s very embarrassing to say (that) about yourself,” Portman replied reluctantly, before saying, “OK, I felt like Jackie was a big one for me.”

Moore added, “I feel the same way as Natalie, ‘Well I think I’m better in…’, you know, but I guess I’d say Far From Heaven.”

Portman was nominated for the Best Actress Oscar for her portrayal of Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Kennedy in Pablo LarraĆn’s 2016 biographical drama Jackie, but Emma Stone won that year for La La Land.

Moore was up for the prize for Far From Heaven in 2003 but Nicole Kidman took home the Academy Award for The Hours.

May December is now streaming on Netflix in the U.S.
