Josh Gad reveals his one Frozen regret
The actor’s distinctive voice makes it hard for him to keep a low profile in public.
Josh Gad has expressed his one regret over voicing Olaf in the Frozen franchise.
The actor has appeared in a series of hit movies ranging from Beauty and the Beast to Murder on the Orient Express, but is arguably best known for voicing the lovable snowman Olaf in Frozen.
While Gad is grateful for the role, there is one thing he wishes he could change.
“If I could do it all over again,” Josh told the crowd during an appearance at Fan Expo Canada 2024. “I would not have lent that snowman my voice. I would have created a different voice.”
The 43-year-old star went on to explain that using his own speaking voice for Olaf has made it difficult to keep a low-profile because his tone is so recognisable.
“It’s very weird being in a supermarket and having a little child go like this,” he said as he demonstrated someone slowly turning their head in shock. “That was my first big mistake.”
However, Gad also insisted he loves meeting fans of the blockbuster Disney franchise.
When asked if he enjoys warm hugs as much as Olaf, Gad replied: , “I try to give it to them when I can.”
Frozen was released in 2013, with the sequel Frozen II out in 2019.
The highly anticipated third instalment is due to hit cinemas in 2027.
