Hannah Waddingham calls Mission: Impossible 8 ‘a proper pinch-me job’
Hannah Waddingham worked on the movie for five days before the strike.
Hannah Waddingham has described Mission: Impossible 8 as “a proper, ridiculous pinch-me job”.
The Ted Lasso actress stars as an unknown new character along Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames in the upcoming action-packed movie.
While she declined to divulge details about her role during the Golden Globes pre-show on Sunday, Waddingham recalled her time shooting on a fighter carrier.
“He’s lovely and fabulous to work for and that’s it,” Waddingham said about working with Tom Cruise, reports Variety. “We arrived on an Osprey on the moving (USS George H.W. Bush fighter carrier) with 4,500 serving men and woman in the hull. It was insane! It’s a proper, ridiculous pinch me job. Him and (director) Christopher McQuarrie are total dreamboats.”
The British actress previously revealed on James Martin’s Saturday Morning in December that she spent five days shooting on the aircraft carrier before the actors’ strike in July and has “another kind of main scene” to film with Cruise once production resumes.
She also admitted that she has become a staunch defender of Cruise since working with him for those five days.
“He is without doubt one of the loveliest and encouraging, positive and inspiring human beings I have ever met. Isn’t he gorgeous? I have no time for anyone saying anything about him,” she said.
Mission: Impossible 8 was delayed as a result of the strike, which ended in November, and is now scheduled to open in cinemas in May 2025.
