Florence Pugh took acting break after feeling ‘exhausted’

The actress felt she had “missed” out on life because she was so busy.

Florence Pugh has revealed she took a break from acting earlier this year because she was “exhausted”.

In a new interview with British Vogue, the 28-year-old star recalled how she needed some down time after working non-stop since making her professional acting debut in 2014’s The Falling.

“It was the first time ever in my career when I’ve actually asked for a summer break,” Pugh shared. “I’m an absolute work maniac, but I can see I’m exhausted.”

The British actress has become one of the biggest names in Hollywood having appeared in movies including Little Women, Oppenheimer, Dune: Part Two, Don’t Worry Darling, A Good Person, and Black Widow.

Pugh’s latest big screen offering is the soon-to-be-released romantic drama We Live in Time, in which she stars alongside Andrew Garfield.

While the star is committed to making films for years to come, she has also realised that in order to survive the industry she needs to balance her work and personal life.

“I suddenly woke up last year and I was like, ‘I hate how much of my life I’ve missed.’ Yes, I want to have a career forever, but that’s not going to happen if I work myself into the ground,” Pugh revealed.
