Billy Crystal shares thoughts on fate of When Harry Met Sally characters
The actor revealed he was confident the iconic couple would still be “romantic” and in love.
{Billy Crystal] has shared his thoughts on where the characters in When Harry Met Sally would be today.
The 76-year-old star famously appeared alongside Meg Ryan in the hit 1989 romantic comedy, which followed two friends who slowly fall in love.
When quizzed on where he thought the couple would be nowadays, Crystal was confident the relationship would still be thriving.
“They’d be talking about downsizing. They’re not ready for assisted living yet,” he told E! host Laverne Cox on the red carpet at the Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday. “But they’re still romantic, still in love.”
He added, “They’re probably having a great time with their grandchildren and finding new ways to be with each other.”
Although the film was released 35 years ago, it still remains popular today.
Crystal feels privileged to have been involved in a project that has stood the test of time.
“It’s extraordinary to be part of an evergreen movie like that after all these years,” he smiled. “Young people finding it; getting called from film schools and 22-year-olds finding the movie; 21-year-olds, and coming to speak to them about it.”
When Harry Met Sally was directed by Rob Reiner with the script written by the late Nora Ephron.
