Salma Hayek enjoyed being 'the bossy one' in The Eternals
The actress had no idea who The Eternals were when she signed up for the movie.
Salma Hayek was overjoyed when she found out her character Ajax was "the bossy one" in The Eternals.
The 54-year-old plays the leader of the immortal beings in the upcoming Marvel blockbuster, alongside Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, and Kumail Nanjiani.
As well as the lure of having Chloe Zhao helm the project, Salma was prompted to sign up immediately when she realised her character was in charge of the rest of the Eternals.
"I love the director. She’s brilliant. And then I like that (Ajax) is kind of the leader. And I said, 'I’ll get to be bossy on this one, too. I can play that.' Giving instructions, telling people what to do, I can do that," she told Variety.
She also candidly shared her concerns over her first-ever Marvel role and said that she was overwhelmed in the run-up to filming.
"I was afraid of the outfit. I’m claustrophobic. I was very afraid that I was going to feel like I couldn’t move," Salma confessed, before going on to reveal a few details of the highly anticipated project.
"It has a completely different DNA from the (other Marvel movies). It’s shot different than all the other ones. It’s in real locations and they found some crazy extra-terrestrial-looking locations. The cinematography is incredible," Salma teased.
The Eternals is set to be released in November.
