Sofía Vergara: Ageing is a pain
Sofía Vergara thinks all women can relate to the angst of ageing.
Sofía Vergara has joked women are "lying" when they say they don't care about getting older.
The 42-year-old actress' career soared after landing the role of high maintenance Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in comedy show Modern Family, which began in 2009 and is now in its sixth series.
Since then she has been offered countless movie roles and can next be seen on the big screen opposite Reese Witherspoon in Hot Pursuit, which follows the pair as they escape the antics of criminals.
There are countless jokes aimed at Sofía's character's age; humour the star fully embraced.
"Yeah, I hate being old... I mean whatever woman in her 40s tells you they don't care, they are lying. I can't complain. You know, I feel great. We thought it was a great comedy bit to call me older and older and older because every woman can relate to that," she grinned to Total Film magazine. "People that have seen the movie always comment on that as I get more and more p**sed off. I think it's a normal thing in every woman. We all get p**sed off by that."
Sofía and Reese got along famously during production, with the Legally Blonde star noting they never got bored on set as the plot was "super entertaining".
It seems no genre compares for Reese, who has also made filmgoers laugh in funny flicks such as This Means War and Just Like Heaven.
"I love being on set with funny people and getting to work and laugh. It's a whole different skill set and different challenges, but so fun and joyful," Reese smiled. "I can't believe every day that I get to do this for a living. It's such a blessing."
But all the fun came at a cost. Sofía describes them as "zombies", as they were so tired once filming had finished for the day.
