Olivia Munn scared of own movie
Olivia Munn found watching footage of a real exorcism during filming of her new movie "scary".
Olivia Munn hopes she doesn't "scream too loud" while watching her new movie.
The 33-year-old actress stars as Jen in upcoming horror movie Deliver Us from Evil, which follows the true story of NY police officer Ralph Sarchie (Eric Bana) as he investigates a series of crimes with an unconventional priest (Édgar Ramírez).
Olivia found shooting the feature so terrifying that she isn't sure how she'll react in the cinema during its debut.
"Getting to see Sarchie's actual footage of the real exorcism he witnessed was the scariest part [of filming]," she told Refinery29. "That definitely kept me from sleeping for about a week; it's so intense. I'm actually kind of nervous about watching the full movie at the premiere - it's so scary, I'm hoping I don't scream too loud."
In real life, Olivia embraces the supernatural. She has even encountered some spooky experiences in her own home and sought the advice of a specialist to help ease her worries.
"I definitely believe in ghosts and spirits. Things are always happening in my house," she explained. "Just last week, I was sitting in bed, and my front door just opens on its own. I have these sensors that announced 'front door,' and I went to my security footage, and you can see it just open with no one there. That kind of stuff happens a lot.
"It used to scare me a lot, until I talked to a medium. She said that they were good spirits, and not to worry."
Olivia feels there is wickedness in all aspects of life, but believes it's just a stage people go through at some point in their lives.
"I believe that evil does exist in our world. I think we all have our moments of struggle," she noted.
"I like to think that the good is winning overall - sometimes evil has to get really strong and make a statement because it's losing."
