Judi Dench sends love to Cumberbatch
Dame Judi Dench was so dedicated to playing a word game during the filming of The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel that she tied it to her head and swam with it.
Dame Judi Dench has been thinking about Benedict Cumberbatch and his family recently.
The legendary British actress will be starring alongside Benedict in the long awaited second season of The Hollow Crown, a mini-series of adaptations of Shakespearian plays, which will return in 2016.
Benedict recently tied the knot with theatre director Sophie Hunter, with the couple also expecting their first child, and Judi couldn't be more pleased as his mother Wanda is an old friend.
"I’ve known Benedict since he was a little boy. His mother and I went to school together. I send him and his new wife huge love. I’ve been thinking of him, and his ma and pa," Judi gushed to Us Weekly magazine.
As well as the TV commitment, Judi is as busy as ever with film work. Next up she can be seen in Tulip Fever which boasts an all star cast including Christoph Waltz, Jack O'Connell and Cara Delevingne.
The film will be released later this year but cinema goers can currently catch Judi in The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
Reuniting original cast members Dev Patel, Dame Maggie Smith and Bill Nighy, Judi reveals shooting was so much fun as the actors are all such good friends.
"We swam a lot. And I loved this game called Bananagrams [word game]. Our hotel in Udaipur had this channel of water all the way around that our rooms looked out onto. One day I was out swimming and Maggie - we’re old friends - called and said, 'Judi! Get the Bananagrams!' I swam back, got the game and tied it to my head and swam back around," Judi smiled. "I remember sitting outside, playing it into the night."
