Jordana: I’d love a Furious 8
Jordana Brewster says the Furious 7 team had a “greater responsibility” to make the best film possible following the death of Paul Walker.
Jordana Brewster would love to star in an eighth Fast & Furious film.
The 34-year-old actress reprises her role as Mia Toretto in the upcoming Furious 7. And despite the latest instalment being the last that co-star Paul Walker filmed before his tragic death, Jordana hasn’t ruled out appearing in another movie in the franchise.
“I’ve heard that there might be more, but nothing official yet,” Jordana told the New York Daily News.
“The fans are always sort of the ones to generate whether or not there will be more. It’s totally up to the producers. I wish it were up to me. I love being a part of this family.”
Paul, who stars as Brian O’Conner in the films, tragically lost his life in a car crash in November 2013.
Following his death, Paul’s brothers stepped in to help finish shoot the scenes that he hadn’t completed.
And Jordana said in the interview that she is thrilled with how the final film, directed by James Wan, has turned out, because she feels it is a fitting tribute to her former co-star.
“If anything, we had a greater responsibility,” she said. “Wan had a gargantuan task ahead of him and he dealt with it with such grace.
“And Vin [Diesel], being one of the producers, also dealt with it with such grace. We were very lucky that we had [Paul’s] brothers to step in.”
Vin stars as Jordana’s character Mia’s brother Dominic in the films. And he said previously that finishing the film was incredibly difficult after Paul’s passing.
"It was, needless to say, the hardest movie I've ever done," he told Access Hollywood. "I remember when the tragedy happened, my mother said to me, 'It's not fair that you have to mourn in front of the world.'
“What's even harder is to mourn and simultaneously that the person is next to you, so every time you turn to whoever's sitting in that chair you see not Paul."
