Bryce Dallas Howard doubts directors will ask her to lose weight
Bryce Dallas Howard was scared she'd end up on a worst dressed list when she bought her own Golden Globes dress.
Bryce Dallas Howard doesn’t think movie bosses will ever ask her to lose weight.
The Hollywood actress, daughter of celebrated film director Ron Howard, spoke out earlier this year (16) over dress sample sizes.
For the 2016 Golden Globes Bryce, who wears a U.K. size 10 and U.S. 6, told reporters she had bought her own Jenny Packham gown to give herself options that sample sizes just don’t afford her.
Seven months on from her red carpet confession, Bryce explains people really got on board with her message.
“When (I said what I said) and folks were like supportive of that, I was like ‘YES!’. It sort of made me feel like it’s going to be really hard for someone to ask me to lose weight now, because I can say: ‘Look, people were into this!’” she exclaimed to inews.co.uk.
Despite her outward confidence, the 35-year-old star says deep down she was “really, really scared”.
“I just hoped I didn’t end up on those horrifying worst dressed lists which are just terribly offensive,” she said.
Although Bryce’s dad is a world famous director, her own rise to the top has been at a slower rate.
With parts in The Help and Spider-Man 3 to her name, it wasn’t until her starring role in 2015’s Jurassic World that the world really stood up and took notice.
Next she can be seen in Pete’s Dragon, opposite acting great Robert Redford. While her work over the years has been varied, flame haired Bryce says the only genre she steers clear of is bleak and depressing movie premises.
“For me, there alway needs to be something positive at the end,” she recently told Britain’s Independent newspaper. “I love all genres but the only ones that turn me off are those really dark films about miserable people living miserable lives in a miserable town in the USA. I would just feel sad during the whole movie.”
